(Lee Co., IL) — A driver is recovering after a train hit a tractor-trailer in Lee County. Authorities say the incident happened Monday when a train from Union Pacific Railroad hit a truck blocking the railway on Willow Road at Track Road, just east of Franklin Grove. Deputies determined the driver had possibly jumped out of the cab of the semi before being struck by the train. The driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. He had recently left Crest Foods with a load of Hamburger Helper products. The snowy weather conditions appeared to be a factor as to how the tractor-trailer got stuck on the tracks.
