Mark Joseph Novakovich, 64, of Ottawa, IL passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 12th, at his home.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 20th, at Gladfelter-Roetker Funeral Home with Monsignor Mark Merdian of the Ottawa Catholic Parishes officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday. Burial will follow at Ottawa Avenue Cemetery.

Mark was born on May 31, 1959, to Catherine Norine (Hertzner) and Frank Joseph Novakovich. He attended Columbus and McKinley Elementary and Shepherd Middle School and was a 1977 graduate of Ottawa Township High School. Mark previously worked at Burns Machine, Snap-On Tools, and Rosen’s. He owned and operated his lawn care service from which he retired. Mark liked to camp, fish, hunt, listen to music, be outdoors, and be with his family and friends.

Mark is survived by his sister Nancy (Tom) Killelea of Ottawa; brother, Steven (Felicia) Novakovich of Smithfield, NC; nieces, Patsy (Josh) Reed of Grantsville, UT, and Jada Novakovich of Smithfield, NC; great nephew Karter Reed, and great-niece, Sydney Reed both of Grantsville, UT; and his labrador retriever and best friend, Luca. He was preceded in death by his parents; maternal and paternal grandparents, Catherine (Gorman) and Burtt Hertzner, Kathryn and Luka Novakovich; many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
