John Michael “Yocko” Fraine, 83, of Ottawa, passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at St. Francis of Assisi Church, with Msgr. Mark Merdian, Pastor, officiating. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, at the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa.
Yocko was born on February 10, 1940, in Ottawa to Roy and Nora Jane (McMahon) Fraine. He was a graduate of St. Francis Grade School and Marquette High School. Yocko married Carol Lieske on February 12, 1976, in Ottawa. He was a proud member of the Pipefitters Local #597 and served as a Bailiff at the LaSalle County Courthouse for 13 years, following his retirement. Yocko was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church and was a proud supporter of Marquette High School, with a special love of Marquette Baseball. He enjoyed playing poker, making his daily rounds, watching his grandkid’s sporting events, and getting his daily lotto tickets and newspapers from Handy Foods.
He is survived by his wife, Carol; three children, Michelle (Dan Patton) Pattelli, Suzanne (Mike) Day, and Andy (Sherri) Fraine; his daughter-in-law, Debbie Fraine; four grandchildren, Primo Pattelli, Giada Pattelli, Eric Day and Paige Day; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his mother and father-in-law, his son, Steve Fraine, and a sister Jill Graves.
Pallbearers will be Dan Patton, Eric Day, Gabe Newbury, Dean Nodland, Primo Pattelli, and Ed McGinnis. Honorary Pallbearers will be Paige Day, Giada Pattelli, Earl Lieske, Dan McGinnis, Doug Trager, Tom Pauquette, and Harry Donnelly.
