Carol (Tunnacliffe) Underhill, 88, of Ottawa, passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at home, surrounded by family.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Ottawa, with Rev. Nicolas Wilson, officiating. Burial will follow at Ottawa Avenue Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa.
Carol was born on May 24, 1935, in Ottawa to James and Clara (Hoffman) Tunnacliffe. She was a graduate of Marquette High School, Class of 1953. Carol married Harold Underhill on December 5, 1953, at St. Francis Church in Ottawa. She was a member of St. Francis Church. Carol loved cooking and taking care of her family.
She is survived by her husband, Harold Underhill of Ottawa; three children, Loren (Sylvia) Underhill of Yorkville, Linda Barra of Naperville; Lance (Fletcher Neale) Underhill Florida; four grandchildren, Grant (Ashley) Barra, Kendra (Ryan) Holleley, Luke Underhill, and Eloisa (Michael) Fox; seven great-grandchildren, Rilyn, Makenzie, and Brooklyn Barra, Nolan and Charlotte Holleley, and Wesley and Quinn Fox; two sisters-in-law, Barb Tunnacliffe, and Mary Tunnacliffe.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Clara; two brothers, Jim Tunnacliffe, and Ronald Tunnacliffe; a daughter, Lisa (Underhill) Prochnow; and a son-in-law, Larry Barra.
Pallbearers will be Luke Underhill, Grant Barra, Ryan Holleley, Fletcher Neale, and Michael Fox.
