Stephen Klag, 71, of Ottawa, IL, passed away Friday, December 8, 2023, at his home.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Monday, December 11, at Ottawa Funeral Home. A funeral ceremony will follow at 7:00 pm, with Fr. Nicholas Wilson officiating. A private burial will take place in St. Columba Cemetery.
Stephen was born June 25, 1952, in Ottawa, IL, to George “Jack” and Joan (DeBrusselles) Klag.
Stephen was a loyal employee of Snap-On Tools in Ottawa until they closed in 1999. He was a collector of many things and was an avid Chicago sports fan. It didn’t matter what team was playing, he was interested. He was an animal lover and had many pets over the years. Above everything, his family was most important to him. He gave the best hugs, called and talked to his family every day, was the first person to call on the holidays, and never missed an opportunity to be with them. He also took excellent care of his parents for many years. The family was his entire world.
He is survived by his mom, Joan Klag; his children, Jeremiah (Lacey) Klag, Stephanie (Devon) Larsen, Melissa Conforti, and Heather (Will) Shane; his grandchildren, Jeremiah, Charlea, and John Klag, Hannah and Hailey Larsen, Dominic, and Luca Conforti, and Brock and Tucker Shane; his brother, Michael (Molly) Klag; his nephew, Jeff (Allison) Klag; and his niece, Katie (Austin) Banks. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Klag.
