Trident Agents make two major busts

On 12/04/23, Trident Agents arrested Thomas J. Higgins age 45 of 307 W McKinley Road Ottawa, IL. The arrests come as the result of a traffic stop where Higgins was found in possession of a rifle and a search warrant was conducted on a residence linked to Higgins at 284 Schumacher St. Marseilles, Illinois.

As a result, of the search warrant approximately 18 grams of purported cocaine and 2 firearms were located at the residence.

Higgins is charged with 3 Counts of being an Armed Habitual Criminal, a Class X felony, and Armed Violence a Class X Felony. At the time of his arrest, Higgins was free on bond for a charge of being a Felon in Possession of a Weapon LaSalle County case #2023CF177.

Also arrested on 12/04/23, was Brennen Lee Jorgenson age 27 of 1250 Union St. Marseilles, IL. Jorgenson’s arrest comes as the result of a search warrant conducted on his residence where Agents seized approximately 12,000 grams (26 lbs) of purported psilocin mushroom products, 24,500 grams (54lbs) of purported cannabis flower, along with 2983 THC Cartridges, 1593 THC vapes, 900 grams (2 lbs) of THC concentrate and 177 jars of THC wax. Agents also seized 8 illegal firearms including a Glock pistol modified to be fully automatic and multiple high-capacity magazines.

Jorgenson is being charged with Unlawful Possession of more than 5000 grams of Cannabis with Intent to Deliver a Class X felony, Unlawful Possession of more than 200 grams of Controlled Substance (Psilocin) a Class X felony, being a Felon in Possession of a Machine Gun a Class X felony and 6 counts of being a Felon in Possession of a Weapon a Class 2 Felony.

In total, the narcotics seized by Agents have an approximate street value of $180,000.

Both subjects are being held at the LaSalle County Jail pending a detention hearing.

Trident was assisted in the arrests by the LaSalle County State’s Attorney’s Office, LaSalle County Sheriff’s Department, Ottawa Police Department, and Marseilles Police Department.
