Curtis J. Rasmussen, 90, of Standard, passed away on November 29, 2023.
Funeral services will be on Sunday, December 10, 2023, at 2 p.m. at Gladfelter-Roetker Funeral Home with Reverend Duane Kaufman officiating. Visitation will be an hour before service.
Curtis was born on September 26, 1933, the son of Edwin and Amanda (Sampson) Rasmussen, in Nettle Creek Township, Illinois. He married Margaret Coleman on May 12, 1952, in Davenport, Iowa. Curtis most recently worked for the LaSalle County Housing Authority before his retirement. He was a great lover of the outdoors, from feeding the birds and squirrels to fishing and canoeing, he loved being outside. Curtis also enjoyed painting anything he could get his hands on. He was never without a smile on his face and enjoyed passing his happiness on to others with laughter. More than anything, Curtis loved his family and enjoyed his time spent with them.
Curtis is survived by his wife of 71 years, Margaret; daughter, Debbie Doll; grandchildren, Jon (Angie) Massutti, Jessica (Gray) Rasmussen-Sutton, Chelsea (Michael) Doll, Lori Ann Rasmussen, Joseph (Michelle) Rasmussen, Jennifer (Chris) Lopez and Tim (Amanda) Rasmussen; great-grandchildren, Lacy, Shannon, Jason, Katrina, Sarah, Jameson, Amelie, and Alina Wren; and great-grandchild, Cali. He was preceded in death by a son, Calvin Rasmussen; a brother, Arnold Rasmussen; and a sister, Norma Price.
