Urgent need programs receive funding from Women Inspired Network

By WCMY News Dec 5, 2023 | 10:32 AM

The Women Inspired Network is a subsidiary of the Starved Rock Country Community Foundation that exists to provide a central philanthropic vehicle for donors to meet their individual charitable needs.

The 11,000 dollars will bring financial relief to three local organizations that first and foremost offer hope.

The Sheriff’s Chaplain Division assists people in crisis in the near term. It offers quickly needed items for survival such as food, clothing and transportation.

Safe Journey’s focuses on employment skills and counseling and shelter for survivors of domestic violence.

Our Savior Lutheran Church in Seneca runs a program called Packs for Pals. It puts food in the mouths of 160 students during the school year and 100 in the summer.

Since its inception in 2016, WIN has awarded nearly $90,000 to local nonprofits who support and enhance the lives of women and children in Starved Rock Country.

WIN finances their benevolence through memberships. Any donation is appreciated, however. For information, visit their website at WINSRCCF.org.
