Naperville Man Pleads Guilty to Shooting at Vehicle Outside Ottawa Adult Establishment, Faces 5-Year Prison Term. Jonathan Caffey, a 36-year-old resident of Naperville, has pleaded guilty to aggravated discharge of a firearm after firing shots at a moving vehicle outside the Silver Slipper Saloon in Ottawa. The incident, which occurred in late August 2021, led to Caffey’s sentencing to 5 years in prison on Thursday.

Back in late August of 2021, Ottawa police received a call about multiple gunshots fired at a vehicle in the parking lot of the adult establishment along Route 71. Caffey, engaged in an argument with an individual, discharged his firearm, targeting the moving vehicle. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the gunfire.

Despite the incident taking place back in late August 2021, law enforcement authorities were only able to track down Caffey approximately a year later. The delayed apprehension raises questions about the challenges investigators faced in locating the suspect.

Caffey’s guilty plea to aggravated discharge of a firearm suggests a resolution to the legal proceedings surrounding the case. His sentencing to a 5-year prison term underscores the severity of the charges brought against him.

The Silver Slipper Saloon incident serves as a reminder of the potential dangers associated with disputes escalating to violence. Law enforcement’s persistence in apprehending Caffey highlights their commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of the community.
