Authorities in Peru have provided an update on a recent rollover accident. Megan Liberatore, a 41-year-old resident of Oglesby, who was airlifted for medical treatment following the incident, has now been treated and released.
The incident initially appeared to be a single-vehicle rollover on Route 251, located south of the Illinois River bridge in Peru. However, upon closer inspection by police and paramedics, it was revealed that multiple vehicles were involved in the crash.
Emergency crews had to take significant measures, including tearing open the roof of one of the damaged vehicles. This resulted in the closure of Route 251 south of the bridge for approximately one hour to facilitate the response and clear the scene.
