John M. “Ol Man” Logsdon, 81, of Marseilles, passed away on Monday, November 27, 2023, at his home.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, November 30 at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Rev. Duane Kaufman officiating. The burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Ottawa.

John was born on January 8, 1942, in Ottawa, to John H. and Dorothy (Shelton) Logsdon.

He was employed at Dan-Jac for 10 years, Borg Warner in the maintenance department for 23 years, and the mulch plant for 14 years until his retirement. John also owned and operated the Logsdon tree service. He loved hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his children, John H. (Margaret Sly) Logsdon, Allen (Marilynn Tucker) Logsdon, and Susan L. (Dennis) Hancock; a daughter-in-law, Carol Sylvester; five grandchildren, Raymond C. and Jessica E. McCormick, Travis J. and Sabrina J. Logsdon, and Benjamin Broadous; two great-granddaughters, Julianna R. Summers and Sophia A. Sly; and one brother, Edward Logsdon.

John was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Daniel J. Logsdon; a sister, Dorothy Greene; and many friends.

Pallbearers will be John H. and Allen Logsdon, Dennis Hancock, Raymond McCormick, Benjamin Broadous, and Michael Shelton.
