A female pedestrian was involved in an accident Sunday night by the Illinois Valley YMCA. The incident appears to have taken place on Shooting Park Road at Walnut Street where there is no stop sign and the posted speed limit is 30 miles per hour.
She was taken to OSF in Mendota where a Life Flight helicopter was told to land. She was later transported to OSF St. Anthony in Rockford with a shoulder or arm injury. The car involved had to be towed. An Illinois State Police accident reconstructionist was called to the scene.
