40-year-old Alivia Schwab of Morris seemed to choose suicide in a “death by cop” scenario. On September 29th she called a crisis hotline which normally defuses an intense situation but in this case, seems to have made it worse. For some reason yet to be investigated fully, Schwab stopped talking to the crisis-trained professional and rushed out of her residence wielding a knife.
Also yet to be determined is if the crisis interviewer called Morris Police because they arrived and fired four rounds into Schwab with three of them hitting her. She was pronounced dead on the scene.
The coroner’s office has ruled her death as a homicide.
