A foster care supplies drive for parents of foster children will run from November 13th to 16th. Requested items include diapers, winter hats, winter gloves, and winter coats. Items can be dropped off at either State Representative Jed Davis’ office, located at 1925 Bridge Street, Yorkville, or State Senator Sue Rezin’s office located at 1802 N. Division Street, Suite 314, Morris.

Two foster care information sessions will be held at 1925 Bridge Street, Yorkville, on Thursday, November 16th at 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. The information sessions give a chance for interested prospective foster parents to learn more about the process of becoming a foster family by hearing from current foster parents and local non-profit organizations.

“Within our state and community, there are unfortunately countless children in our foster care system that are in need of love, support, and essential supplies,” said Sen. Sue Rezin. “That is why I am proud to be partnering with CASA Kendall County, Called to Care, and Rep. Davis to provide information, support, and desperately needed supplies for our state’s foster care system.”

“With winter right around the corner, many foster families will take in children needing winter gear,” said Rep. Jed Davis. “As parents know, paying for winter wardrobes adds up fast, so let’s help these local families by providing the much-needed gear.”
