Leonard J. Ostrowski, 85, of Ottawa passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2023, at home.
Funeral prayer will be recited at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 20, 2023, at the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Ottawa, with Msgr. Mark Merdian, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow the Mass at Resurrection Cemetery in Justice, IL where Full Military Honors will be accorded. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 19, 2023, at the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa.
Leonard was born on January 23, 1938, in Chicago, IL to Frank J. and Stephanie A. (Gotkowski) Ostrowski. He was a graduate of St. Rita High School in Chicago. Leonard served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Ottawa. Leonard loved his family, friends, and golfing.
Leonard was the beloved son of the late Frank and Stephanie Ostrowski. Survived by his dear loving friend Delores Eiben. He was a loving father to Suzanne (Gary) Rickman; grandfather to Bonnie Rickman, a brother to the late Sister Stephanie Ostrowski T.O.S.F., Theresa (the late George) Cernak, Richard J. (the late Mary Ann) Ostrowski, Rita Roberts, the late Clara (Edward) Heimberg, the late Jerome J. (Linda) Ostrowski, Mary Cleveland, and Norbert J. (Catherine) Ostrowski. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
