Detective Sgt. Martin of the La Salle Police Department provided an update on the Wednesday, Oct. 12 shooting death of an unidentified woman at the Flying J Gas station. After a nationwide broadcast announcement of the search for the suspect, his car was seen in a rest area just off Interstate 80 in Bettendorf, Iowa. As Bettendorf officers approached the blue Hyundai, shots were heard from inside the car. The suspect died from an inflicted gunshot wound. The names of the wife and suspect are not being released at this time.
