Burglary to a business, 300 block of W. Norris Dr. Ottawa

PRESS RELEASE: On August 13th, 2023, at approximately 11:32 AM, Ottawa Central Dispatch received a report of a burglary to a business, in the 300 block of W. Norris Dr. Ottawa Police Department Officers and Detectives investigated the incident, and were able to develop Michael Schaefer as a suspect. After further investigation, items believed to be linked to the burglary were located at a residence in the 1200 block of Chestnut St., where Schaefer was taken into custody. Michael A Schaefer 02/26/2000 of the 1200 block of Chestnut St., was taken to the LaSalle County Jail and formally charged with burglary, a class 2 felony, with his bond being set at $20,000 10% to apply. The Ottawa Police Department would like to thank the residents and local businesses that assisted in the investigation.
