Carus released the first insurance update since their last town hall meeting on July 12. Since the Jan. 11 fire at Carus, community members filed 124 insurance claims, and 72 of them have been settled or paid, according to an update from Carus Senior VP and CFO Chryss Crockett.
Of the remaining 52 claims, 20 offers have been extended, claimants rejected 11 offers, 16 are under review for approval and insurance carriers denied five.
“We will continue to provide more updates on progress that’s been made with the insurance claims as the information becomes available,” Crockett said. “We’re pleased to see the steady progress that’s being made with these claims, and we would like to remind anyone with questions to check out our insurance FAQs on our website.”
