The Ottawa City Council wants to improve Peck Park. Commissioner Marla Pearson says the first step is improving the tennis courts. The council approved spending about $147,000 for fence painting, court paving, and painting the new court surface. Pearson says it takes a while to get tennis court construction done. There will also be construction for a small spalsh pad at the park.

Pearson says the playground equipment will also be removed soon. It’s currently too dangerous to play on so the city put up a sign on it to keep kids off. She says she wanted to try and keep it for another year, but it can’t happen.

Other improvements include extending parking and turning the circular basketball court into a full regulation court. The tennis courts should ready by spring next year.
