Marseilles Police Capt. Todd Gordon will be the city’s next police chief. But not yet. The city council approved a resolution last night that helps get Gordon started on the process of becoming police chief. Commissioner Melissa Small says because Chief Brian Faber is leaving in February, it made sense to start the transition.

Gordon says he’s pleased that the city has entrusted him to become the next head of the Marseilles Police Department. He says one thing he wants to do is make sure police are getting out into the community

Gordon has been with the police department for almost 22 years. He worked part-time for the Seneca Police Department before becoming a full-time officer with Marseilles in 2000. He was raised in Marseilles and was part of the last high school class at Marseilles High School before it shut down.
