Another batch of mosquitoes has tested positive for West Nile virus. The LaSalle County Health Department says the bugs were collected in Utica and were later tested by Environmental Health staff. The first batch was collected in Marseilles and the two were collected in LaSalle. The health department says make sure you get rid of any standing water around your home so the bugs can’t breed. They also recommend wearing bug spray with DEET, and report any other standing water. People who get the virus usually don’t show symptoms, but people weakened immune systems could feel feverish, nauseous, or have muscle and headaches.
