A Morris man is accused of shooting a woman in the head at his home Saturday. Grundy County Sheriff’s Deputies say they were first called to the 5500 block of Sand Ridge Rd. to break up an underage drinking party. After clearing the party, sheriff’s deputies went back to make sure everyone had left. But, they ended up finding a woman in a Lexus with a gunshot wound after a crowd of people was seen around the car. She was later taken to Morris Hospital. After getting help from several emergency agencies including the Will Grundy Major Crime Task Force they arrested 18-year old Maxwell D. Williams, who lived at the home. He’s been charged with aggravated battery with a firearm and was taken to the Grundy County Jail. A .380 magnum handgun was also apparently recovered from the scene.
