The LaSalle County Emergency Management Agency, or EMA, was awarded $5,000 from the Alliance Pipeline Fueling Futures grant program.
The grant is meant to fund initiatives that support “community safety, vibrancy and sustainability,” such as purchasing volunteer response vehicle radio equipment and supplies for volunteers to complete tasks for the community.
“The grant funds will be used to further develop our volunteer capabilities to better assist first responders in our communities and to build capacity for disaster response,” EMA Director Fred Moore said.
