The city of LaSalle wants to make improvements at Rotary Park. Economic Development Director Curt Bedei says he and City Engineer Brian Brown have applied for an Illinois Department of Natural Resources Grant. Bedei says he’s hoping to get $2.2 million out of the possible $2.8 million the grant offers. Improvements to the park could include a fishing pier at Prairie Lake, a paved road to the lake, restrooms, a parking lot, and a pickle ball court.

Bedei says the city wasn’t given a long time to get the grant. He also says if the city is considered a distressed community, they’ll only have to put in 10% of the funding for the new projects.
