Carus announces reimbursement for some residents affected by January 11th fire

Carus Chemical will reimburse residents affected by the fire that used their insurance carriers instead of going through Carus’ insurance. The chemical company says using their own insurance likely is required to pay the deductible on their insurance policy. Gail Borden with Carus says they understand the burden and will reimburse those homeowners $2,500 if there is damage from the January 11th fire who have filed their claim with their insurance carrier. You need to provide a copy of the paperwork from your insurance company that shows the name of the insurance carrier and the amount of deductible that was reduced from the payment you got. Send the info to Carus’ corporate headquarters at 315 4th St. in Peru. To date, Senior Vice Pres. Chryss Crockett says 115 insurance claims were submitted with 51 of those being settled or paid. 20 other claims have been extended and 29 active claims are being reviewed.
