A LaSalle alderman is frustrated with the lack of response for claims made by residents after the January 11th Carus Chemical fire. Bob Thompson says he’s met with St. Rep. Lance Yednock about getting claims from the unknown insurance company Carus is represented by. He says after Yednock passed on some information to the Illinois Department of Insurance, he was quickly met with a response from someone. The LaSalle Alderman says DOI Supervisor Iris Canto says they are still waiting on a response from Davies Group, Carus’ third-party adjuster, on the claims but they will respond soon. Thompson says he asked why it’s taking longer than the first time he asked for a response from the DOI back in April.
He says it’s a travesty that it’s taking so long. It’s unclear what the next step will be.
