The St. Margaret’s Health System is shutting down on June 16th. It includes St. Margaret’s Health Spring Valley and all other clinics and facilities. CEO Tim Muntz says after a meeting with the Board of Directors, the healthcare company has decided that there isn’t enough money coming in to keep its doors open. It also means that for now, residents in western LaSalle County, Bureau County, and some of Putnam County might have to drive further to get the care they need elsewhere. Muntz says it’s not the outcome they wanted and it was due to many circumstances beyond their control. The hospital’s mission has been around for the last 120 years.
