St. Sen. Sue Rezin and St. Rep. Lance Yednock say the closure of the St. Margaret’s Health System is extremely disappointing. Rezin says although she and Yednock have been working with Gov. Pritzker’s Administration to get state support, the administration wasn’t confident it would go toward payroll needs. The Morris Republican says the skepticism, unfortunately, appears to have been warranted after an advanced payment from OSF Healthcare, which is planning to buy SMH Peru, was used to pay off debt instead of going toward payroll for employees. She says we will continue to do everything within our power to help assist and fast-track the purchase and reopening of the Peru hospital so the community can have access to quality healthcare.
