Illinois Valley Community College Pres. Jerry Corcoran presided over his final Board of Trustees meeting Thursday. He’s retiring as the college’s president on June 30th. Tracey Morris will take over on July 1st. Some items discussed during the meeting included a concern about the design of the Agricultural Complex phase two project. Corcoran also talked about being the head speaker at last month’s Ottawa Area Chamber of Commerce Dinner. He says he’s never had a day go by when he didn’t thank God for the chance to work at IVCC. Board of Trustee’s Chair Everett Solon thanked Corcoran for all he’s done for the college and wished him the best in retirement. During Corcoran’s presidency, the IVCC Ottawa campus, Peter Miller Community Technology Center, and truck driver training facility were all built.
