Two people from Spring Valley are being held at the LaSalle County Jail on murder charges. But 24-year old Nicolus Phillips and 21-year old Chastity Furar haven’t been charged by the LaSalle County State’s Attorney’s Office yet. They could have been the two people considered persons of interest that were arrested after Ottawa Police found a dead man Tuesday evening in the 1000 block of Marcy Street. Police are investigating the incident as a homicide. Police Chief Brent Roalson says the incident is considered isolated and there is no threat to the public.
