The Ottawa Elementary School Board favors Trajectory Energy Partners as the company to work with for a Community Solar Project. The board unanimously voted to move forward with the Highland Park company last week. Supt. Michelle Lee says this doesn’t mean the project gets started right away. She says a contract has to be signed first.
She talked about what Architect Bill Taylor is doing for the district with reguards to the project. He would work with the company to help figure out where the solar panels would be set up for the project. If the district were to build another building on the property where the solar panels would go, they would still have ten acres. Community Solar is a project or purchasing program that allows residents, businesses, and nonprofits to save money by getting solar energy from a solar array from anywhere in the state.
