St. Margaret’s Health Spring Valley could close next month

St. Margaret’s Health Spring Valley could be closing on June 16th. A memo sent by St. Margaret’s Health CEO Tim Muntz says the hospital continues to face financial distress and has requested emergency funding from the state. The memo also says that OSF Healthcare will be purchasing more properties from SMH. They include the Midtown Complex, Health Center, and Gastroenterology Office in Peru, Granville Clinic, Oglesby Medical Clinic, and Family Health Center in Spring Valley. Muntz also says the LaSalle Medical Clinic, Hygienic Institute, and Henry Clinic will close on June 9th. The Streator Medical Clinic, which is leased by SMH, will also be closed at the end of this month. Muntz finishes by saying St. Margaret’s says they will continue to operate as long as they can.
