The water and sewer extension project in Marseilles is finished. Now the city has some land they need to annex so a restaurant, hotel, or gas station could move in on the land located next to Interstate 80. Mayor Jim Hollenbeck says the city has been working on the water and sewer extension project since the 1970’s.
He says the annexation has also taken some time to get done. The project started in October 2019.
He says there were multple lawyers invovled in the annexation agreement. No one commented about the annexation during a public hearing the city council held during yesterday’s meeting. They will approve the agreement at their first June meeting.
