A mental health evaluation was done on a Streator man who allegedly kept walking toward a police officer with a knife last January. Prosecutors say 31-year old Jacob Thompson ended up getting shot by the officer in Central Park in Streator after he was told to put down the knife but didn’t. They didn’t say whether he is mentally fit to stand trial or what the results of the evaluation say. Thompson will be back in court in June.
