Legislation that allows the Lake Holiday Homeowners Association to buy road salt for a cheaper price has passed the Illinois General Assembly unanimously. The bill allows the association to buy the salt through the Northville Township because they make up over 50% of the township’s population. St. Rep. Jed Davis says by allowing the association to purchase the items at a discounted price, the state is saving taxpayer money. He also says working with St. Sen Sue Rezin on the issue was crucial. Lake Holiday General Manager Jon Bouxsein says the township was buying road salt for about $100 per ton.
