Jane Maria (Skoog) Twait, 87, of Marseilles, passed away on Monday morning, May 8, 2023 at Pleasant View.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa with Rev. David Ufkes officiating. Burial will follow at Fox River Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the start of the service, on Saturday, at the funeral home.
Jane was born on March 6, 1936 in LaSalle to Gunnar and Ellen (Schmieding) Skoog, the second of seven children. She was a graduate of Utica Public Schools and LP High School, class of 1954. Jane married Richard E. Twait on March 26, 1961 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Utica. They were the last couple to be married in the old church, which was on Canal Street. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran in Marseilles and a life long member of Muskies Inc. In 2013 she moved to Pleasant View Independent Living
She is survived by a brother, Karl E. (Fran) Skoog of Chapin, SC; three sisters, Joyce Owens of Marseilles, Mary L. Skoog of Bowling Green, KY, and Nancy (Everett) Stilts of Glasgow, KY; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Richard, a sister Eiline Porter, and a brother Arnold Skoog.
Pallbearers will be Jeffrey and Dan Owens, Troy and Andy Skoog, Brian Porter, and Corey Lamps. Honorary pallbearers will be Linda Rogowski, Sue Wold, Michelle Skokan, and Della Ternado.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the donor’s choice.
