Cong. Darin LaHood was among the 217 U.S. House members who voted for the Limit, Save, Grow Act Wednesday. It would allow the federal government to borrow another $1.5 trillion through next March. It would limit spending growth to 1% per year for ten years. And it would increase the work requirements for people getting public aid through SNAP, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.

LaHood says working Illinois families have to be careful with their money and live within their means and so should the federal government. Four Republicans joined all the House Democrats, including Lauren Underwood, in opposing the bill. She didn’t issue any statements about it. It now goes to the U.S. Senate.
