Updated Friday afternoon:
A judge set bond at $50,000 today for a Marseilles man accused of a machete attack at the door to his apartment last evening. Fifty year old Brad Bukowski could get up to seven years in prison if he’s convicted. He’s charged with aggravated domestic battery because of a family relationship with the victim.

Prosecutors say Bukowski had just kicked his wife out of their apartment in the 500 block of Main St. and she asked another relative to get her cats. Bukowski allegedly had the machete in his hands when he answered the door and attacked the other man with it. The victim had an injury that wasn’t life threatening.

Thursday night version of the story:
A 50-year old Marseilles man is charged with aggravated battery for allegedly cutting another man with a machete tonight. Marseilles police say the victim has an arm injury that’s not life threatening. He was taken from the 500 block of N. Main St. to a hospital. Brad Bukowski was arrested. He’s in the county jail to wait for a judge to set bond. The police say this was an isolated incident.
