The newly elected Shawn Collins will take the oath of office to be an Ottawa High School Board member on Monday, May 8. The board will also choose its president for the next term. That will be at a special board meeting. Supt. Mike Cushing says the board can’t wait until its regular meeting on May 15, because that’ll be one day too many after the election. State law requires new members be seated and the organizational meeting to happen no more than 40 days after the election.
