Morris police say a man who fled a traffic stop and finally stopped when he ran out of gas in LaSalle is wanted in Kansas in a homicide case. Sixty-one year old Randy DelaCruz was last known to be living in California. He allegedly left a traffic stop at a Morris gas station, fled down Interstate 80 toward Seneca where Morris police stopped following him, and went to the Flying J Truck Stop in LaSalle. A LaSalle County deputy found DelaCruz there Saturday night with his car out of gas.

Booked into the Grundy County jail under the name John Doe because he allegedly refused to give his name, DelaCruz now faces numerous traffic charges in Illinois and extradition to Kansas. He’s facing a probation violation charge there in connection with a homicide.
