Congress is being asked to consider giving LaSalle $1.5 million to drill a new water well outside the floodplain. All five of the city’s current wells are in the floodplain. During floods, the water can’t be tested and the city workers can’t do regular maintenance tasks. Having a well elsewhere will keep the water flowing and protect the quality. Cong. Lauren Underwood sent the funding request to the House Appropriations Committee.
