The LaSalle County Sheriff’s Department says there’s no Brad Davis on its roster. Someone using that name is calling people and telling them there are warrants to arrest them. He’s also claiming that they can get a bond discount if they turn themselves in. It’s not clear if the caller is benefiting financially. In any case, that’s not how serving warrants and turning yourself in work.
The Sheriff’s Department says it won’t call you on the telephone to tell you when there’s a warrant to arrest you. It’s more likely that a police officer will show up at your door or pull you over when you’re driving. And there’s no discount for turning yourself in, although you’re welcome to. If you want a bond reduction, you have to make a case for it to a judge.
