Prosecutors say they are very close to a deal in a Streator man’s failure to report an accident and death case. 27-year old Gabriel Benitez has been charged with hitting 45-year old Carl J. Telford with his SUV on IL 351 in May last year. Telford was riding his bike when he died. Benitez is scheduled to be back in court on June 1st. His new trial date is June 5th.
