The Streator Fire Department says a power strip overheated yesterday morning upstairs in a home in the 100 block of W. Seventh St. That started a fire. Everyone got out without injury. Fire fighters had the fire out quickly. But there’s damage throughout the home from smoke and water.
Everyone also got out of a home in the 500 block of W. Boys St. last night. The Streator Fire Department determined that the cause of that fire in the basement was accidental without figuring out exactly how it started.
