Another woman was saved from a drug overdose by the Peru Police Department. Police Chief Sarah Raymond says police were called to a residence on March 11th after a 911 call about a woman who wasn’t breathing. Officers Bill Sommer and Hunter Wright gave the woman three doses of Narcan, the drug overdose reverse drug, and started CPR. When an EMT arrived on the scene a breathing tube was put into the woman’s mouth, she took a big breath and started coughing. By the time an ambulance arrived she was breathing on her own. Raymond says the two officers deserve to be honored because of what they did to save the woman’s life. They were given Lifesaving Awards last night.
