A year ago, Larry Potash of WGN-TV visited the local Norsk Museum to do a feature on Maj. Gen. Holger Toftoy. The program will air the weekend of April 22. Toftoy studied missiles and was one of the important figures in starting the American space program. He came from LaSalle County and there’s a collection of diaries, newspaper and magazine articles, and more about him at the museum in Norway. Backstory with Larry Potash will feature Toftoy, people who knew him, and the Norsk Museum at 7pm Saturday, April 22 and 11pm Sunday, April 23.
