Patricia Ann (Duggan) Acuff
1939 – 2023
Patricia Ann (Duggan) Acuff, 84, of Ottawa, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 31, 2023 while battling lung cancer at The Pavilion of Ottawa.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa, with Rev. Paul Bladen, Pastor of Deer Park Community Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Deer Park Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the funeral, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Wednesday, at the funeral home.
Patricia was born on March 23, 1939 in Ottawa to Phillip and Gladys (Rowe) Duggan. She married the love of her life, Stanley L. Acuff on January 3, 1972 who preceded her in death on July 22, 2011.
She was employed by Illinois Bell and the Ottawa General Hospital prior to marrying Stanley. Once married, she jumped into helping in his farming and trucking businesses. She became an extraordinary bookkeeper. She fully maintained the farming side, up until the decline in her health two weeks prior to her passing.
She was a very active member of Deer Park Community Church, where she served as Deaconess. She served as secretary of the Church’s Ladies Mission Society, which supported at least 14 missions each year. Pat also served as a volunteer of the Ottawa Hospital Auxiliary and was a member of the Illinois Corn Growers Association. She was instrumental in beginning an Alzheimer’s Association Chapter in Ottawa.
She is survived by her three children, Shelly (James) Dunsmoor, of Augusta, KS, Dan Acuff, of Ottawa, Debra Krug, of Morris; three grandchildren, David (Emma) and Greg Dunsmoor and Ryan Krug; four great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Harper, Halsten, Sterling; and a daughter-in-law, Irene Smart.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Stanley, a son, Scott, and a daughter-in-law Karen Ranger
Pallbearers will be Steven Duggan, Justin Duggan, Bob Miller, Bill Sherman, Chris Over, Dan Duggan.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Kraig Duggan and Bill Boyd.
