St. Rep. Davis says Democrats tried to ram through bill without enough votes

Republican St. Rep. Jed Davis says Democrats tried to quickly push through a bill that could give the Illinois Attorney General’s Office too much power. The bill’s aimed at drug companies that drastically raise prices on drugs in the state’s public aid and state health insurance plans. Davis says that’s good in theory but is the wrong solution.

He claims without enough people present Friday night to pass the bill, staffers were casting votes for members. Republicans objected and the bill’s now back in the Rules Committee.

Davis says only two people were allowed to talk about the bill and the one who voiced an objection voted for the bill.
