It’s been 20 years since a seven-year old Streator boy left his family’s front porch and was murdered. A fisherman found Dalton Mesarchik’s body in the Vermilion River south of Streator the next day. Whoever killed him has never been found. His mother, Michelle Mesarchik, prays that the answers she wants come out soon.
The family and friends of the family held a vigil in Streator’s Heritage Park yesterday. Retired Livingston County sheriff Robert McCarty urges anyone who knows something that can help police solve the case to call or email with the tip.
Those at the vigil released dozens of blue balloons in Dalton’s memory.
