A 22-year old Marseilles man faces charges for allegedly having a loaded gun and going out on a mission to kill someone. Caleb Davis is charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and possession of a .22 caliber gun and ammo without a firearm owner ID card.

Prosecutor Matt Kidder said in court this morning, Marseilles police found Davis in the 1000 block of Orange Ave. yesterday after he reportedly went out vowing to shoot and kill another man. Davis isn’t accused of firing the gun.

Judge H. Chris Ryan told him he’ll need to post $1,500 to get out of jail on bond and he could get up to six years in prison. Depending on what Davis is convicted of, probation may not be an option.
